Namibia's struggle for independence, 1915–2000

This is the proudest chapter of our history — how the Namibian people, after decades of oppression, finally won their freedom. We'll trace the birth of nationalism and the founding of SWAPO, the many forms of resistance from strikes and churches to the armed struggle, South Africa's failed attempts to cling on, and the long international road through UN Resolution 435 to the elections of 1989 and independence in 1990 — and then ask what challenges freedom brought.
