Choosing a job: wage & non-wage factors

One day you will choose a job of your own, and this lesson shows you exactly what people weigh up when they do. Every occupation offers two kinds of reward: wage factors — the money, from salary and overtime to bonuses and benefits — and non-wage factors — everything else, like job satisfaction, security, hours, safety and being near home. We learn to name both, we compare four real Namibian workers (a nurse, a miner, a teacher and a market vendor), and we work through a real decision so you can see why two people can look at the same job and choose differently.
