Flowers, pollination, fertilisation & asexual reproduction
Narrated lesson · press play
How does one plant make another? In this lesson we open up two Namibian flowers — the wind-pollinated maize plant and the insect-pollinated bean — and name every part and its job. We follow pollen on its journey to the stigma, watch a pollen tube grow down to an ovule to make a seed, and finish with the clever seedless way farmers grow new plants from potato tubers and cassava cuttings.
